AE Cleaning & Home is a local publication about the unglamorous, satisfying work of keeping a house in good shape — seasonal maintenance, deep cleaning, and the steps that get a property market-ready. Everything here is written for the 805 specifically: the hard water, the marine layer, the Santa Ana winds, the fire season, and the older homes that come with all of it.
We started this because most home-care advice on the internet is written for nowhere in particular. A grout-cleaning guide that ignores coastal humidity, or a "spring checklist" built around snow and freezing pipes, isn't much help in Thousand Oaks. Our aim is the opposite: field-tested, regionally honest guidance you can actually act on this weekend.
Who's behind it
AE Cleaning & Home is published by Maid VIP, a residential cleaning and home-preparation company based in Thousand Oaks and serving the Conejo Valley and greater Ventura County. The articles are written and edited by Chris Szetela, Maid VIP's owner and lead operator, drawing on years of hands-on work in homes across the region.
That connection is the whole point — the advice comes from people who do this work every day, not from a content farm. We think it also deserves to be stated plainly, which is why we're upfront about it here and in our editorial standards.
